West Chester's College Night Club

We are not a restaurant pretending to be college bar after 9pm at night. We are a college night club and damn fucking proud of it. We are here for one reason & one reason only, to serve the needs of the college crowd (And to make money. Okay, that's two reasons). 15 North is the only place in town set up specifically for live music, and our PA is second to none! So come get a taste of how you should see and hear a LIVE band,

After 13 Years, The Legend Continues...............

Smoking is permitted.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2009!

May all of you dreams come true!

We Need Your Help

I'm sure everyone is feeling the money crunch because of our failing economy. Christmas is coming and that really doesn't make things much better. Today a large number of people graduated from WCU & I extend a heartfelt congratulations to all but I can't help but wonder how many of the graduates have a job or a prospect of a job. It's just a mother fucker out there right now for everyone. You would also be amazed how many bars are not doing that well. As you may know, we are one of the bars going through some difficulty right now. Difficulty is a kind word, to be more accurate, I worry if I can pay the bills and keep the doors open until the new year. I've been open for over 13 years & I knew I couldn't be the King of the Hill forever but I never thought it would be this slow. I know it's because of three major factors, 1. There are 9 Million bars in town now. 2. Both my partners died in the past two years. 3. Rock N Roll DIED.
BUT, on the bright side it seems to be making a very small comeback. People are starting to get into the whole "Feel the live music" thing again. So, things are looking up. But it's not enough, I need your help. I need you to start coming in and buying drinks. I need you to start to really know what it's like to feel the live music jump up and down in front of the stage and scream along with the band. Even if you come in and buy ONE drink that would help tremendously. I can't do it without you. I never could. It's always been about you. I have supplied WCU students and their friends cheap drinks and great bands for 13+ years. 15 North has been the bar to be in West Chester for over 10 years. Now I am asking for a favor. Also, the busier I get the better bands I can get. Actually that goes with everything. The busier I get the better I can serve you. But I am asking for a big favor. Please stop in for a drink.
Help save the bar!
Thank you for your help, Mike Sr.

Halloween Contest

Okay, if you were not there, you missed a unforgettable contest. I'd just like to mention a few people by their costume and if you were there you will understand. Butters as Professor Chaos, Burger King Creepy Dude, Jesus or was he just an apostle, Booby hickey Girl, Princess Leia Organa whom we are all masturbating to, The Beasties, 6 or 7 Ghost Buster girls & guys, All of the slutty Cops & Nurses, all the slutty costumes in general, The tall creepy Jason guy, the 3 girls dressed up as shots, The Cobra people from Dodge Ball, Girls Gone Wild Chick who was not wild at all, Green Comic book girl(Marvel), Flasher Dude, The annoying Drunk Joker, PeeWee Herman Clone, and the list is tooo much to mention, but there was one girl that did not get in the contest that turned a lot of stomaches, The Ultra Fat Coyote Ugly Beast, she was either confident or delusional, most likely a little of both!
Thanks to all who participated! If anyone has any pictures please send them to me! Thanks Again, Mike 15 North.

Saturday Happy Hour

Homecoming weekend we didn't have the 25 cent drink special and some people were, understandably disappointed. Here is the reason why. There is no fucking way I would be able to afford, because of the large amounts of people in West Chester for homecoming, to sell drinks for 25 cents. I'd lose tons of money & with this economy and the ridicules amount of bars in town, I can't afford it. I am in business to make money. So, there ya have it. I hope you understand & I do apologize to anyone who was disappointed.

Is 15 North Closed?

NO!

I think it's time I set the record straight. We are not closed. We are OPEN on Friday, Saturday, & Sunday Nights. Just Steaks is still open 7 Nights a week.

Now it's time to know why. I could write about how my wife is ill and we need to move to a warmer climate and I'm looking to sell after 35 years in the Bar business or how both of my partners have died in the past 2 1/2 years. But I think most people who come to 15 North know this. The truth is rock clubs like mine are never open 7 nights a week. I don't open until 8 on most nights (Friday & Sunday are earlier). So, the fact that I was open 7 nights as a rock club was a phenomenon in itself, thanks to the college crowds who love live music. But, live music isn't as popular with the college crowd & I have an old place, so the hip and new shinny new places are going to be more popular. Rock has been dying since 9-11 and it's now on life support. It seems that people, not just the young crowd, but all people, have forgotten that Rock is a way of expressing yourself & protesting what is going on in the world around us. That's how Rock was formed in the 50's and how in the 60's was a great force of expression for the young people to protest the country. It didn't stop at the 60's it bled into the 70's. But also Rock is a way of expressing yourself artistically, like it did in the 80's. Rock had another resurgence in the 90's with Grunge alternative Indie rock. (Indie was a new word then). Young people protesting the way they were treated for being different and free thinking.
NOW, we have TONS of real SHITTY shit to protest and all we get is Chris Daughtery. The shinning light is, most of the people I talk to, who are under 21, listen to Classic Rock. (Led Zeppelin, Stones, and the Beatles). Knowledge is king and what I mean by that is, the experience of listening to Rock music in it's raw, original state, is a good foundation for appreciating and writing new music in conveying this generations feelings on the country and the world as we see it.
So, with economy and the influx of so many new places, it's not cost efficient to be open Monday thru Thursday. The saving grace for some of the other places is they open at 10-11 in the morning. I open late. I don't have a lunch or dinner crowd. I'm a fucking Rock Club who has the best Steak sandwiches in town but that's not dinner. The herd has been thinned and money is tight. I will open again during the week when the economy is better for the town. Also, I am not the only one who is feeling the crunch. The whole town is and I am the first one to make a move. Soon, more will follow, they always do.
Once in awhile, during rough times you have to hoist the black flag and get a little dirty. That's what listening to Rock is all about! Long Live Live Rock Music

Thanks for your support now & in the future,

Mike Sr. (Old, fat, Bald Dude at the front door)
